Michael Panio, MD

Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Panio is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Educated at Cornell University as an undergraduate, he achieved his medical degree at Cornell Medical College where he also taught Anatomy for 15 years.

His internship and surgical residence were at The New York Hospital and his orthopaedic residency at The Hospital for Special Surgery. He was awarded the Lewis Clarke Wagner Ward from The Hospital for Special Surgery for distinguished research in shoulder stability. He has published articles in the "Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery", and is a consultant to minor league pitchers regarding technique and its relation to the throwing arm.

Dr. Panio has been in practice in White Plains since 1976. He was past Section Chief of Orthopaedics at White Plains Hospital Center and was Orthopedist-in-Chargeat the Burke Rehabilitation Center. Besides his interest in joint replacement and shoulder difficulties, Dr. Panio is a competitive sculler and windsurfer.
