Dr. McIntyre was born and raised in Westchester County and currently resides in White Plains with his wife, Lizanne O'Toole and their five children.
He is a graduate of Pleasantville High School and the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He earned his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla received the Cor et Manus Award for service to the college. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the Long Island Jewish campus of the Albert Einstein Medical Center.
He studied arthroscopy and sports medicine with Dr. Richard Caspari in Richmond, Virginia at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. Dr. McIntyre has been in practice at Westchester Orthopaedic Associates since 1994 and specializes in the use of arthroscopy to treat shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist and ankle injuries.
Dr McIntyre has lectured in the United States and abroad on the subject of shoulder and knee arthroscopy and has published several articles in peer review journals and publications on a variety of topics including knee and shoulder arthroscopy, electronic medical records and health care reform. He has been a Master Instructor at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago, Illinois and serves on the Board of Directors of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Locally, he is a Westchester County delegate to the Medical Society of the State of New York and serves on the Westchester County Association Blue Ribbon Committee on Healthcare Reform. Dr McIntyre is the team doctor for the White Plains School District and serves on the Loucks Games Committee at the High School.
Dr McIntyre is the chairman of the Health Policy and Practice Committee of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and a member of the Coding, Coverage and Reimbursement Committee of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. These committees deal with the economic and political issues in medicine and serve to insure maximum patient access to quality, affordable orthopedic care.
Dr McIntyre is a member of the Surgeon Advisor Board for shoulder arthroscopy to Tornier Medical in Edena Mn. The board helps develop new and innovative devices to treat sports injuries.
